What is bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived active (from Psoralea corylifolia) shown to deliver retinol-like results—smoother texture, fewer fine lines, more even tone—without the typical irritation. It’s antioxidant, barrier-friendly, and suitable for most skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone.
Why do people call bakuchiol “nature’s retinol”?
Because multiple studies show bakuchiol can improve wrinkles, pigmentation, and photoaging similarly to retinol—but tends to be better tolerated and not photosensitizing. Translation: you can use it day or night and still wear sunscreen as usual.
Bakuchiol is ultra sensitive and you won't ever experience "retinol burn" like retinol products.
What is Sytenol® A—and why does it matter?
Sytenol® A is the gold-standard, certified form of pure bakuchiol used in the majority of clinical research. Not all “bakuchiol” on the market is standardized; Sytenol® A guarantees identity, purity, and batch consistency so you’re getting the results the studies are based on.
