No! But our kids keep asking for it and we could not find truly safe choices for their skin. Sephora was a definite no. So we made this play set to give parents an option that was easy to say yes too.
My tween wants “serious” skincare they saw on TikTok. How do I explain they don’t need it?
Start by validating the interest, then set the guardrails by which they can explore.
A sample script might look like: “I love that you want to take care of your skin. A lot of those products are made for adults and can actually irritate young skin or cause problems later. For your age, the healthiest routine is simple: cleanse at night, lightly moisturize, wear sunscreen for outdoor time, drink water, and eat real food. Let’s keep it gentle and make sure your skin stays happy.”
We've designed this set to give parents a safe option to offer their kids. If they press for more details, speak openly and honestly. Harsh actives (strong retinoids, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide stacks) can thin the barrier, cause redness, and trigger breakouts on developing skin.
Which ingredients or products should tweens avoid?
Skip retinoids/retinol, high-strength AHAs/BHAs, peels, strong acne meds unless prescribed, and fragranced or heavily essential-oiled products. Be careful with actives marketed for anti-aging; they’re formulated for adult skin needs.
Younger skin tends to be thinner than adult skin and can have serious reactions to adult skincare products.
Does this contain fragrance or essential oils?
No synthetic fragrance and no essential oils. The products have a light, pleasant scent from the raw oils and extracts themselves.
